When reading promotional material describing a place and its facilities watch out for vague descriptions or no mention of anything for your pet only. When you give them a call, ask who is on the line and after hearing their spiel ask for the low-down and let them know you'd talk to them if what they'd promise is not real.
Some Pet vacation guides have lists of places to visit, but since some places just wanted a free shout-out and advertising a cal to inquire usually proves them to be pet restricted.
